about ambient a:

it's about half new - made on the sunshine coast,
and half older - made in east van.

a lot of these pieces came out of exploring one single sound on a micro level. lots of live performances of glitching out a sample in a musical/expressive fashion, paying particular attention to rhythm and natural pacing. lots of slowing evolving backdrops and meditative / journey intentions. a lot of these pieces are all tuned to the same root drone i have used for hours of souns material.

many of these songs have particular intentions or purposes in mind. wash away is for clearing away old energies and cleansing. the sound is intended to be relentless, not leaving any space for old or undesired energy to stick around or hold onto. like waves. wash away is not necessarily meant to be pleasant sounding, but the result is aimed to be pleasant.

open face first is a sort of invocation for open face - the entire face relaxed, mouth open, jaw relaxed, eyes open, completely open and unguarded and relaxed. it was made as the first in a sequence, which is why it's "first". further in the sequence is "open face heart" and other types of openings following.

senseless in space is floating in outer space.
